№ 1What is the Koekoek?
A classic cuckoo clock, brand new on the inside.
The Koekoek is a digital cuckoo clock from our factory in Helenaveen. It calls every hour — as many times as the hour indicates — and once on the half hour. It gets the time from the internet, including daylight saving time, and resynchronises itself every night. No winding required, ever.
Hourly and half-hourly strike
At 7 pm you hear seven cuckoos (12-hour style), one on the half hour. Just the way it should be.
Quiet at night
Set active hours (07:00–22:00 by default). Outside that window the cuckoo keeps its beak shut.
Always the right time
Time over the internet (NTP), automatic daylight saving, and a fresh synchronisation every night at 03:00.
Volume to taste
From 10 to 100%, adjustable through the web interface or with a single press of the button on the device.
Effortless setup
Its own WiFi network Setup Koekoek with a settings page that opens automatically. No app required.
Sound on board
The cuckoo sound lives on the device itself — no internet needed for the call.

Turn the Koekoek on
Plug it in and wait until you hear the cuckoo once — it is then ready to be set up.
Join the “Setup Koekoek” network
Grab your phone and pick the open network
Setup Koekoek in your WiFi settings, or scan the QR
code on the right.
Open the settings page
The page usually opens by itself; if not, go to
http://10.0.0.1. Choose your home network, set the
volume and active hours, and press “Set clock”.
The Koekoek restarts, connects and sets the correct time on its
own. Done!

Starting over completely is possible too: hold the BOOT button for two
seconds.№ 3The strike schedule
When does it call, and how often?

| Half hour | 1× — except after the last active hour |
| Outside active hours | Quiet as a church mouse |
If the clock is active from 07:00 to 22:00, for example, the 22:00 strike is the last of the day; after that it stays quiet until 07:00 the next morning.

Every Koekoek is built around an ESP32 with an I2S audio amplifier and a speaker, housed in a 3D-printed enclosure of our own design. The complete firmware, the 3D models and the sounds are publicly available on GitHub:
